Magic Wardrobe

Behold the actual wardrobe that inspired C.S. Lewis' vision of the gateway to Narnia, on display at Wheaton college's Wade Center. I spent most of hesterday morning in their special collection reading room reading letters sent by JRR Tolkein and George MacDonald. Fun stuff for nerds.

Their collection also includes the desks of Lewis and Tolkein (Where portions of the Lord of the Rings and all of the Hobbit were produced).

That's a geek's dream-come-true! I would love to visit there.

The Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe is probably my favorite childhood memory. My mother took us to see the actual Broadway production of the play years ago and I can still remember almost every detail. It is fascinating. Great post!

That is soooo cool. I have a theory about authors that I enjoy reading: I would like to meet their friends... I know the author would be interesting, but for some of these folks, don't you wonder who inspires some of their thought process?

Maybe one day you could read something and know that, "I inspired that paragraph."
