Tea Parties and Mushrooms
One of the greatest things about Fuller is the communities. This morning I watched our neighbor while her mom and brothers went to an appointment. It was great fun. First, there was the dressing up.
Then there was the tea party:
Then we went looking for flowers because when your dressed like a flower girl that's what you do. We didn't find many flowers, but we did find some mushrooms.

Jump in the Air!
JumpInTheAIR! from m lumpkin on Vimeo.
I hope this works. Eleanor commonly asks me to "dance wuf me wuf music." She loves this song, Clap Your Hands by They Might be Giants. Try to ignore me. Notice the graceful fall and laughter that erupts afterward.

Griffith Park
We went to Griffith Park this morning. We were meeting some friends at the Travel Town Museum. The museum had all kinds of old trains and carts that are accessible for climbing and "driving." Eleanor thought this shelf above the steam engine's furnace was a great bed for her baby.
All the other friends were boys and Eleanor did not want to have her picture taken with them.
Her favorite part of the morning (according to her) was riding the kid-sized train. I didn't get a good picture of that.
After the trains we went to an excellent playground. Eleanor's favorite part there was a train that she could "drive." She also liked this digger thing and just about everything else there. It was a great morning.

"Joys" of Parenthood
She wasn't crying because she was on the toilet. I don't remember why she was crying, but she was and has been a lot this past week. We've been sick. Eleanor's illness started first last Sunday night. In addition to her snot and fever, her symptoms included copious crying, whining, and general feelings of malevolence. We had our first experience of "family illness" and it is not one I am fond of. It has been a very long week, with many long nights of holding an inconsolable toddler who kept insisting that she needed "med-sin" even though it had just been administered. Thankfully, we have a wonderful peditrician that Eleanor likes. After a visit to her (and a prescription), Eleanor is feeling much better and sleeping much better.
In other news, this week marks a new era in our household: the "why?" phase.

Saturday Morning on the Porch Swing
E woke up early. I got up and got her a vaffle and told her I was going to go get some coffee (we were out) and come right back. She said: "I go with you, get coffee?" So I said: "Sure," and Melody rejoiced beneath the blankets.
We walked two blocks to Starbucks and got coffee and a blueberry muffin to share and sat outside enjoying the wispy morning clouds slinking down over the San Gabriel mountains. We met a dog with a blue sweater on. We met a woman from Georgia who sounded like she was from Georgia. We came back home and E insisted that I get mommy to come down and swing with us, and bring the "Pig Book." That's how it happened.
