More Birthday

Matt and his brother Jason share a birthday at the end of August. (They aren't twins, but three years apart.) They celebrated their birth last night with a feast of Bart Simpson cake. Eleanor was super excited about the cake, but being the mean mom I am, we had it after she went to bed.

Forgive me if I did the math wrong, but isn't there 4 years in between 29 and 25?

Cute cake. Nothing wrong with being a good mommy and limiting the sugar intake. =)

Happy early birthday, Matt (and Jason)!

I'm sorry we didn't get to come say goodbye before you left on Friday, but we already had plans we couldn't get out of. Hopefully we'll be able to see you when you come to visit? Or maybe you'll even need a place to stay? You're always welcome to use our guest room.

So I'm thinking that someone got Matt's age wrong? Or maybe they still put 25 since he will not be 26 until a couple of weeks? I'm sad that we are already missing a Lumpkin celebration. Happy early Birthday Matt! Do you guys have an address already? Somehow we failed to get contact info before you left. (Or maybe the Matts took care of that and I don't know about it).

Yes. the matts are in constant contact due to their questionable music sharing habits. You can mail us at

453 Ford Place #2
Pasadena, CA 91101

cell phone stays the same (for now), email stays the same. Gmail rocks.

Yes, our zip is the date of the 911 tragedy.

BTW, I'm commenting from a Holiday Inn Express in Alamo Gordo, New Mexico. The above brother and I are on a road trip to our new home via the grand canyon.

I haggled for a better rate b/c we were quoted one over the phone... On the way in with our junk we passed a troupe of german air force guys in jump/flight suits goofing around and shoving one another into the bushes. Ah, to be young again.

The drive went well. I drove all 1100 miles and boy is my back tired. Praise God for podcasts and fantastic vistas. Perhaps photos will follow...

It's only 91101 if you're American, other places put the year first. But then they don't use ZIP codes, do they? Also it's a good thing you didn't make your gmail address lumpkins.in.little.rock@gmail.com. Boy that would be confusing!

Hope you enjoy(ed) the canyon!
